\u00a0Project Butterfly final event highlights\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>

Project Butterfly reached its final stage on 20 November with a hybrid event held at the\u00a0Regione\u00a0Emilia-Romagna headquarters in Brussels and broadcast online.\u00a0The recording of the event is available here<\/a> After more than two years of collaboration between the six consortium partners and\u00a0numerous\u00a0external institutions, the partners gathered to share the project\u2019s results and lessons learned for a more sustainable opera sector.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Lorenza\u00a0Badiello, Head of the Emilia\u2011Romagna Region Office in Brussels, opened the event with a welcome to the public. Stefano\u00a0Bonaccini, MEP and former President of the Emilia\u2011Romagna Region, delivered the opening remarks. Aldo\u00a0Sisillo, Artistic Director of Teatro Comunale di Modena, gave a concise recap of the project\u2019s journey \u2014 from the kick-off, the call for composers, workshops with schools and two composer residencies, through to the performances in Modena,\u00a0Gda\u0144sk\u00a0and Helsinki \u2014 and presented a Project Insight video. Celia Grau, Sustainability & Special Projects Manager at Opera Europa, offered insights into sustainable opera practices and the sector\u2019s path ahead. Project results and best practices were presented by Ville Salonen (Managing Director, Opera Box) and Romuald\u00a0Wicza\u2011Pokojski\u00a0(General Manager, Opera\u00a0Ba\u0142tycka). An AI avatar demo was presented by Andy Probst, Creative Director and General Manager,\u00a0Heimspiel\u00a0GmBH.\u00a0The conclusion segment was led by\u00a0Lisa\u00a0Sentimenti, Project Manager at\u00a0AESS, and the formal\u00a0programme\u00a0concluded with a networking lunch that brought partners and participants together.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The event marked an important milestone for Project Butterfly and provided concrete examples and tools to inspire the opera community toward more sustainable production models.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
